Tromsø & The North

Tromsø & The North Of Norway

Northern Norway consists of three counties, Nordland, Troms and Finnmark, and Tromsø – the capital of the North, is in Troms County.

South of Tromsø is Nordland County with Bodø Town, Lofoten, Senja, the West Fjord, and a plethora of incredible destinations and long, narrow, winding roads.

North of Tromsø is Finnmark, the northernmost county, home to the North Cape, the frontier with Russia, Finland and Sweden, fierce cold winters and the longest period of Midnight Sun during the summer.

From the point where you enter Nordland, to the north eastern corner of Finnmark, the distance is a staggering 1600 kilometers (995 miles).

So if you are looking for a road trip in northern Norway – this is what you are up against!
